Urban Markets Case Study - Heirloom Market
Updated: Jul 19, 2019
Scale of work
Working with Giant of Carlisle, Insign developed a store design that provides a progressive, urban retail environment. The Heirloom Market projects give a city feel, offering locally sourced food items including; coffee, kombucha, and olive oil kiosks. From concept to installation we transformed this location into a vibrant, interactive consumer experience.
Partnering with Heirloom Market, we introduced many new hand-crafted installations, interactive pieces and customized showcases for the first location at Graduate Hospital.
Insign craftsmen customized storage areas for aisles and produce sections that give off a local, small market design. Additionally, shelves and hand-crafted slat walls line the Wine and Beer section. Insign seamlessly highlight’s Heirloom’s grocery technology innovations by hand-crafting and wrapping the showcase fixtures surrounding the olive oil and kombucha stations.
We incorporated a fence rail backdrop to the LED category letters throughout the store to guide consumers. This effect appeals directly to the senses, creating a unique shopping environment. Ceiling accents match the cabinet and fence rail to create consistency and add depth to Heirloom’s community feel.
Innovations and Strengths
Our design and fabrication team transferred ideas from the market’s small and mighty location to its other new Heirloom sites. In addition to the initial store in Graduate Hospital, Giant will roll out three more locations in Philadelphia which will include neighborhood-centric décor and brands.
Insign’s project management, design, production and installation teams raised the bar by meeting tight deadlines while working with an evolving design concept.
